That logo above served me well for five years. I drew it in 'Paper' by FiftyThree, Inc. The artwork (I'm using the term loosely) took about 30 minutes including the first 'door' that I didn't like. Placing it in the website took about 6 hours because I didn't know what I was doing.
You will notice I am going for a simpler, cleaner look now; but I can't let go - so the old logo is the new footer. This post is mostly about where I am now, and where I am going from here.
I used to track about ten statistics, now I am down to just the three that seem the most important -

I would like to think that these numbers might double in another five years, but I don't think my ultimate audience is very big. After all there are only about 125,000 architects in the US. Maybe there is a similar number of other design professionals whose interests are similar. And maybe double those numbers give you a worldwide number. But 500,000 people is a pretty small market when you realize only a small percentage of all those people read blogs.
My plan is to keep inching closer to a significant share of all those potential readers. Amazingly it is quite easy to find topics even after 500+ posted articles. The trickier part is finding new ways to reach those potential readers. But I have some ideas... First Idea - Polls I can always ask you to share your preferences. So here we go with the first question. Which of these information sources do you actively use: Twitter, Google +, Facebook, LinkedIn, Medium, Tumblr, RSS, Bookmarked Websites, Email Subscriptions, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Other? Check all that apply in the poll below. And thank you for your input.
If the Poll isn't visible, try this link.
Second Idea - New Website Theme
Make Architekwiki more friendly. The website looks different because I adopted a new 'responsive' theme. The old logo wasn't cooperating, so I 'downsized'. I don't really want to change much, but responsive themes re-format your website to fit the device you are viewing it with. Whatever your favorite way to view Architekwiki, I want it to be effortless for you. That means improving navigation to find useful information. Final Idea - Tools The final way I am working on is new Tools to share. During the past 18 months I have launched Trello-PM, FeeCalqs, OFFPLAN, and MyCorbu. And most recently I have introduced the premium version of MyCorbu, TIME. Check them out if you haven't already. In 2018 I plan to complete MyCorbu TIME and introduce 'EXPENSE', the bookkeeping module of MyCorbu. I think EXPENSE will be the ideal solution for firms under 20 people or so - requiring much less time for bookkeeping chores than even simple accounting packages. Thank you for following Architekwiki. I hope you have enjoyed the journey so far. We are just getting started. Comments are closed.
